Following a car accident in May 2015 I required neck surgery. Post surgery I had an MRI with dye contrast. That contrast contained the metal, gadolinium. As the dye was injected into my body I went into anaphylaxis. Afterwards I experienced symptoms including prolonged anaphylaxis, Bell’s palsy, muscle atrophy, rashes, swelling, high blood pressure, hypersensitivity, reduction in kidney and liver function and more. My autoimmune system had crashed and my weight plummeted. I was dying. Something had to change.
